Texian Heritage Festival Check Presentation to Nonprofit Beneficiaries
Texian Heritage Festival Barbara Frazier board member welcomed representatives of three nonprofit organizations that were the beneficiaries of the 2016 Festival.
The Festival board also presented its First Annual Volunteer Scholarship Award to recognize and reward Jennifer Otrezov, a junior at Lone Star College who worked tirelessly before, during and after the Festival, demonstrating a passion for volunteering and leadership.
Present for the check presentation were Wayne Keller, Caiden’s Hope; Larry Daspit, Fernland Historical Park; Billy Ray Duncan, Montgomery Historical Society; and Jennifer Otrezov, Lone Star College Volunteer.
Frazier also recognized 2016 Festival sponsors: Montgomery Economic Development Corporation; Ranch 115 of Hempstead; Wiesner Auto, Hodge Podge Lodge of Montgomery; WordSpresso, Rotary Club of Lake Conroe; LaTorretta; and Montgomery County Historical Commission.
Caiden’s Hope provides support to parents of a child born prematurely while the baby is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a medical facility. Parents are offered assistance with lodging, gas cards, and food to allow the parents to remain close to the hospital during the crisis.
